THE BAYS / PALMSKIN / JIMPSTER / CLIFF LAY
Saturday 30th June
The Consortium, Bournemouth
In the Bar : Tosh Ohta & Lee7Seven
Open; 9pm - 4am.
Advance tickets: £6 / £5 NUS | Door tickets: £8 / £7 NUS
Our next event is Maison Live! at the Consortium on Saturday 30th June, the next instalment in our Maison Action Figures series. The Bays will be performing a live set with support from Palmskin, Jimpster and Cliff Lay.The chances are you'll have heard of The Bays. Having done over 40 gigs this year they're one of the UK's most talked about live acts. Trouble is, if you haven't been to one of those gigs (or picked up their Jockey Slut cover mount CD) you probably won't have actually heard their music. Why? Because they don't make records, infact they don't even write songs, or rehearse, or plan their sets. All they do is turn up and play music to a crowd at a particular moment in time. No loops or backing tracks, just improvisation so you'll never hear the same thing twice. What you will hear is incredible live beats spanning deep house and techno, hip hop, electro and drum n bass layered with dubby bass lines, samples and synths... but not necessarily in that order.
